Mesmerized by the Vortex

For those of you who still watch this blog, the Chavez family is doing well. We have just come off of a very eventful spring break; it had a little bit of everything: mid-day naps, trips to museuems, candy in the middle of the day, trips to far away places, meeting new people, junk food, hotel stays, peacocks, bike rides and longer than usual DSi game play time.

Luckily, our routine is pretty well burned into our souls so re-entry to the workforce and school / extracurricular life was not so difficult.

The in-laws (Carol's parents) are with us for 'only they know how long', which, of course, is fine with me: I came home today to folded laundry and a pan full of albondigas and beans. It was glorious. Carol's dad has been monitoring and taking care of the garden while i've been at work. Something about that man makes things grow. Suddenly, i've got sprouts all over the place and he's only been here a couple of days. Perhaps their time had come, but i like imaging that Carol's dad is some type of plant whisperer. Remember the time he mowed my banana tree and it came back stronger than it was previously?

  • I was just thinking about how you were kinda disappointed when Senor Mercado mowed down your banana tree--as if he had no idea you were trying to grow something there. Ha! Now we know.

Glad to hear you guys didn't need a vacation from your vacation. See you sometime soon?
