Piano Recital - Adolfo Fidel Chavez IV

Adolfo IV had a piano recital last night. He wore a well-fitted little boy suit with a clip-on tie. He waited patiently on an old cushioned pew as student after student went up on stage and tapped out their accomplishments on the piano.

The recital was in the chapel a christian school on Antoine. When it was his turn he stood up and walked up the small steps onto the altar, turned to the audience and gave an awkward bow. He turned, squeezed in between the bench and the piano and placed his book of music. He sat down placed his fingers on the keys and banged out two songs - bowing awkwardly once again between the two.

He did it like he was taking care of business. No drama. No nervousness. No anxious, looking back over his shoulder for his parents.

Later, after the show, he would mention to his teacher that he had been a little bit nervous, but it didn't show.

So proud of the boy.

How could the child of two such poised parents not rise to the occasion?

You two have done an excellent job with your fine, fine children.
