What is really cool Killy is that our previous experiences with 4x5 have been limited to
a 180mm lense on a cheap 4x5 body............................
Since Carl owns the same lame one that SWT's Tech dept has I compared the two to see how they matched up......to see what the real differences are.
The ground glass........good glass can make all the difference in the world.
Have you seen that Subaru commercial where a guy is taking a 4x5 shot around sunset of a
mountain in the distance.......If your previous experiences have limited you to the Omega 4x5
in the tech department you would immediatley say "BULL#$%^" because you couldnt believe that an image would be that bright on the ground glass. Mark recently replaced the frenel and ground glass on one of the Sinar's with a piece of glass handmade by a guy in Atlanta. This guy has been grinding his own glass for 50 yrs, the cost is not cheap but damn it makes one hell of a difference. it looks like you are staring a a small tv....except that it is upside down and backwards.
