selected shorts and the best lunch ever.

Last weekend Adolph and Amber gave me their tickets to see the Austin presentation of Selected Shorts. it was a blast!

the event was held at the Paramount Theatre downtown. it was nice and cool, with a light mist filling the air. somwhow the rain, the briskly moving people and their dripping coats/umbrellas/walkers/guide dogs made the whole thing seem more sophisticated and cosmopolitan.

On a completely different note, i had the best lunch ever today. that's right; bacon and cheese biscuits. MMMMMMM-MMM. that's good eatin'.

  • Hey, My grandpa George did all the cabnetry work in the Paramount. He may be gone but his handy work lives on.

  • colin: you grandpa George made the most beautiful cabinetry. i didnt' know he did that sort of stuff commercially. I had the impression that it was strictly a hobby for him.

todd: cheese and bacon? are you trying to kill(y) yourself? i've recently made a dr's appt to (finally) get a checkup on my cholesterol.

  • That looks really good! Except for that fig-fizz behind it that is.

  • oddly enough adolph, the 'fig-fizz' was just a prop. i actually enjoyed an ice cold coca-cola with my meal.

colin : wow, i had no idea. i started sketching the place while waiting but it was far too dark during the show to keep working on it.

  • Hey Colin, is the grandfather you mention the same grandfather at your wedding?

  • surely you didn't really "enjoy" the coke as much as you would have a nice chilled "fig-fizz".

i just don't believe you could be so easily swayed

i'm sure the meal was good though...as good as it could get with a coke
