Iraq is just like Houston

It's true Houston IS just like Iraq. According to the outdoor thermometer in my sister's Blazer, it was 106 degrees today.

I wasn't able to cut my yard till 8:00 p.m. - it was only then that it was just reasonably 'cool' enough to stand outside longer than 15 seconds.

  • Indeed, it was far too hot to move today. I went out at 8:20 p.m. for a bike ride. It was still too hot for that, but there was one moment when I was riding past a really huge house (West U., you know; there was a guy that looked like you, Killy, in his office/computer room with a HUGE window) and the wind blew and it was near dark and I looked up at the trees and I thought, 'you've got to be kidding me, am I so lucky?' I don't know why I do that. I get very happy when the breeze blows after an awful, hot, sticky day like today.

But, nonetheless, Tom Delay is an asshat.

  • Houston must be like Iraq. I remember reading a post from the blogging guy "during the war." He couldn't mow his yard either till after 8 o'clock. but i think it had something to do with bombing raids.
I think he also called his elected official an asshat, which would have been Sadam, at the time.

  • was sadaam elected?

  • Yes, however Jimmy Carter and the U.N.
were not there to monitor the situation.
