A weekend with the D800

Concrete Jungle by killy
Concrete Jungle, a photo by killy on Flickr.

For the first time in a very long time, Taggart went out to take photos with me. It was a nice change of pace for him, although he still used a tripod for every shot.

For me, though, it was an exercise in relearning how to see through a full frame camera. There was so much more in the frame and so much to consider both compositionally and exposure-wise.

We got in the car not knowing where we would end up, but not far down the south loop, we suddenly remembered a concrete barrier storage spot we had seen on our way out of town last week.

Luckily, the place was open and there were no 'No Trespassing' signs. We had the run of the place! So we photographed as long as we could handle the late afternoon sun.
