I was lucky enough to be a trial-run guest for dinner last night, and let me tell you, the place is great! I give it top marks. I ate an enitre 14" inch pizza by myself, not only because I have a hungry tape-worm in my belly, but also because the pizza really was delicious.

Props and admiration to Joseph And Jen Strickland for having the courage to make their dreams a reality!

As soon as it officially opens (maybe wednsday or thursday?) I say we head down there and get a slice!

  • So, is it "authentic" NYC pizza? Or just good pizza?

There is a good place here in Houston that has great pizza, but when you ask for a plain slice they say "cheese?" They call plain pizza "cheese pizza." Of course it has freakin' cheese!

  • ethan: are you talkin' about that place on west gray next to the old theater?

  • Killy: Yep

  • from what i can gather - there is no authentic ny pizza unless you are standing in new york eating a drippy, greasy (pronounced GREE-zee) thin crust "plain" pizza that you just bought from a walk-up window

  • ethan: speaking of authentic regional foods, have you found a decent philly sandwich here in houston?

  • Killy: You mean a cheesesteak? I don't really eat those, so I haven't tried.
