video camera?

Hey everyone...
I am going to get some sort of Hand held video recording device.
What is ya'lls experience and recommendations?

I am just using it for regular shooting...nothing super fancy.

  • The nerf movie i made was filmed on my little Canon SD-550.

Are you looking for something strictly for video, or do you want something more versatile? I have been pleased with the video capability as well as still image quality of all three Powershots I have used.

  • I think that it is a great idea to get a camera like the Powershot models that have decent video capabilities. You won't have to carry both a camera and a video device, and because memory is limited, your videos will be restricted to short takes, which is a plus, especially when making home videos.

  • When you guys say Powershot...do you mean the Cameras that also do Video?

    Or is there another?

  • Yeah, Powershot is Canon's line of compact digital still cameras. They have (in my opinion) pretty darn good video capability, and excellent still quality.

Wow, my camera isn't even on the site anymore, but this one looks interesting. Check out the Cnet review.
