The games will commence at 1 p.m. at Mangum Manor Park, just down the street from my place, and tend to end just a couple of hours later at 3 p.m. It's a super good time and a hell of a workout since we play chinese prison rules.

I am known as the nightcrawler for my blue dodgeball outfit. I have a feeling that Super Dave Osborne will also be making an appearance.

Here's a map for you to follow to my place. We can walk from there - i need help carrying the balls.

  • man! i wish i could play hand-ball with y'all!

  • we'll miss you paul. i would really love to have the whole gang there, but it's also nice to meet new people. the group that comes out gets larger everytime we have a game.

have you considered buying a vehicle just so you could come and see us? you'd look good in a honda, or even a toyota i think. although, now that i think about it, the beard lends itself to a well maintained clunker rather than something new. maybe an old cadillac? or even a caprice classic with some sweet rims.

  • I can't make it, bro. Sorry. I need some QT with the wife (Kathy) and I am pretty sure she is not down with the dodge ball.

I'll hit it up at some point, maybe after the bike tour...

On another subject... we should still get together for lunch. Lack of Adolph is no excuse....

  • ethan: Dodgeball IS quality time. about lunch, yes we should do that. let me know when you can get away during the week and we'll hit chipotle or even Miller's (a burger joint just down the street).

  • my current plan is to make a one hundred and fifty five billion dollars and help finance a high-speed train between Austin and Houston

  • the balls are soft sara and it's such a good time. it really isn't rough at all. as a matter of fact, everyone is so old, that your arms start hurting after the first few throws. we play on a tennis court, so there's planty of room. girls and guys play together.

you should really come out nonetheless. even if you guys don't play, it'll be fun. i promise, really. it's such a beautiful day anyway...

please! there's only an hour till game time! please don't delay!

  • Lunching at Millers: Ethan, definitely eat at Miller's. Sara, you ought to take the train down to the Med Center for lunch and try it out. The burgers and onion rings are really nice.

High Speed Train Between Austin and Houston: If it is government subsidized then I think it will unfairly hurt Southwest, where you can get a $150 round trip (pre-purchase, not on sale). I don't know what Austin's airport is like, but Hobby is a really simple airport to navigate and is pretty convenient to most Houston destinations. It would probably be far cheaper and more future-proof for the government to subsidize commuter air between major destinations and improve publicly available transit within those destinations (not necessarily "public transit").
